Grocery shopping never looked so stylish! Sleek Charlize Theron cuddles son Jackson as they stock up at Whole Foods

She's famous for playing tough women onscreen.
But when it comes to her son Jackson, Charlize Theron shows a decidedly softer side.
The actress, 37, was spotted shopping in West Hollywood on Thursday and though she cut a sleek figure in her all black outfit... she kept her boy by her at all times.

The pair were picking up goodies from Whole Foods.
The former model was a doting mum, and though she looked like she could walk straight into a thriller... Charlize tenderly held her little one close.
At one point the Prometheus star lent in and gestured to her son, as he sat in the shopping cart.
The South African beauty then carried Jackson into the car, and deftly dealt with the shopping.

The family were no doubt shopping in preparation for Jackson's first birthday party, which was held at the star's home on February 17 in Los Angeles, according to Us Weekly.
The guest list included Sandra Bullock and her two-year-old son Louis, as well as talk show host Chelsea Handler.
The event was  'a low-key, mellow birthday party with only a few close friends and family,' a source told the publication. 'The kids were running around the yard while the adults sat and chatted. Jackson was practicing walking the whole time and was very happy and active.'

Charlize adopted the Jackson in March 2012, and he looked every inch a movie star's son in a yellow-and-blue striped sweater, folded jeans and Nike trainers.

Speaking on The Today Show last year, the 5ft 10in beauty revealed about motherhood: 'I love it! I’ve got to tell you, I’m available for other babies' diapers to be changed. I can do it in my sleep now. I am so good.

'I now know how to change a Japanese diaper, a Spanish diaper, an English diaper, a German diaper. I’m like the diaper pro now.’
